Sometimes you may wish we has less Sunshine on the 109 degree days in Hotasslanta, but we surely did need some AC n Sunshine in our 0 window having box of a government job/office space down the street.

Amidst office drama, tattle taling (yes, adult tattle tale colleagues) and the ridiculous behavior that accompanied the 2010 decennial Senseless, some of my
Colleagues and I escaped the sun-less office box and headed into sunshine-- a group of many of us

Although Sunshine isn't on the normal tourist route, the cashier was so sweet and educating, and served us even though she's only a cashier. The oxtail was hitting my belly and I heard that the curry goat was good.

Why only 3 stars? I've had the Jerk chicken there before and it tasted like dry bland chicken with no taste at all. Where's the thyme? Where the pimento? Where is  jerk!? Anyway when Sunshine pull out an old oil drum and start really jerking chicken, then maybe we can always be regulars.

What started off as a decent jamaican restaurant turned into a bad experience after the second visit on the evening of 11/28/2011. My boyfriend and I ordered their jerk chicken dinner with salad, rice & peas and plantain...the food looked great initially...but when we started to eat the chicken, we realized it was pretty salty...it left a lingering taste on our palette and I refused to pay for something that wasn't good...so I called the waitress and I told her the chicken was salty...she asked me what would I like her to do, I said bring us oxtail instead...she went to the back where the cook/owner came out...he tried to explain how jerk chicken is cooked, how he never cooks with salt and how in his number of years doing this, he never had any complaints...I basically said that I can't speak on anyone else's experience but our own...and we know how jerk chicken is supposed to be made and more importantly, how it's supposed to taste being Jamaican ourselves...even if salt isn't use, the jerk seasoning itself has salt in it...so he came back out with 6 pieces of oxtail with tons of gravy and said he normally doesn't do this (as if he's doing us a favor) and told us to share it and leave the jerk chicken on the side...the oxtail, although better than the jerk chicken, was tough...nothing like the juicy and tender oxtail I'm used to... I know that these small Jamaican restaurants doesn't have the resources and options like the major restaurants, but I felt that he should have brought us two brand new dishes of food since the salty gravy from the chicken was also on our rice...and although we were charged the jerk chicken price which was two dollars cheaper than the oxtail price, with only 6 pieces of oxtail to share between my boyfriend and I, the money we payed for that meal was still not worth it...everyone knows that sometimes cooking mistakes are made where the food might be too fresh, too sweet or too salty...it happens! But I don't want to hear from the cook/owner about what everyone else allegedly has to say about their food...I want to hear how you're going to please the presently dissatisfied customers so that they'll come back again and spread the word to others about their restaurant...I definitely would not recommend anyone to go to this place unless you have absolutely no idea what good Jamaican food is supposed to taste like...as far as I'm concerned, my boyfriend and I said that next time we come to Atlanta and want good Jamaican food, we will definitely not be coming back and our family and friends who live in ATL, we plan on telling them that they would be better off preparing their own food at home then wasting money at this place because this Sunshine Jamaica restaurant clearly did not shine our way.
